Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the forbidden tree. This marked the beginning of sin for humanity. We will learn spiritual lessons from this story. It all began when the serpent (Satan) tempted Eve. The serpent said to her, “You will not surely die. You will become like God.” Satan was originally an angel. However, he was cast out of Heaven to Earth because he sought his own glory and tried to become like God. The source of sin lies in our pursuit of our own glory. Tempted by the serpent, Eve took the forbidden fruit, ate it, and gave some to Adam. Although Eve was the first to sin, Adam was responsible for failing to stop her. God created husbands to be leaders of their families and wives to be their helpers. Spiritual failure and decline occur when men fail to fulfill their roles as spiritual leaders. King Solomon was influenced by his pagan wives, which caused him to fall spiritually. Similarly, King Ahab was influenced by his idolatrous wife, leading his nation into spiritual decline. In contrast, Joseph, who is mentioned in Genesis, refused the sexual advances of Potiphar’s wife and preserved his purity. He remained faithful to God. Later, he became ruler of Egypt and saved neighboring nations, including Israel. In this way, it is important for spiritual leaders to place themselves under Christ’s authority and fulfill their roles. After sinning, Adam and Eve made loincloths from fig leaves. Moved with compassion, God made garments of skins for them.The fig leaves symbolized human deeds, while the garments of skins symbolized the righteousness that comes through Christ. Our God is rich in mercy. Let us walk in his love.
アダムとエバは神から禁じられた木の実を食べてしまった。それが人類の罪の始まりであった。私達はこの物語から信仰的レッスンを学ぶ。事の始まりは、蛇(サタン)がエバを誘惑した事にあった。蛇はエバに「この実を食べてもあなたは死なない。むしろ神のようになれる」と語った。サタンは本来天使であった。しかしながら、彼が自らの栄光を求め、神のような存在になろうとしたために、天から地に落とされたのだ。私達が自らの栄光を求めようとするところに罪の源がある。蛇に唆されたエバは禁じられた木の実を取って食べ、それをアダムにも与えた。この時、先に罪を犯したのはエバであったが、その根本的原因はアダムが彼女を止めなかった事にある。神は夫を夫婦のリーダーとし、妻をその助け手として創造した。男性が霊的リーダーの役割を果たさなかった時に、霊的失敗や衰退が起こる。ソロモン王は異教徒の妻から影響を受けて、信仰的に失墜した。アハブ王もまた、偶像礼拝者の妻から影響を受け、国を霊的衰退させた。逆に創世記に登場するヨセフは、ポテパルの妻から性的誘惑を受けた時、それを拒み清さを保った。彼は神に忠実だった。後に、彼はエジプトの統治者となり、イスラエルを含む近隣諸国を救った。このようにして、リーダーがキリストの権威の下に自らを置き、自らの役割を果たす事は重要である。罪を犯したアダムとエバはいちじくの葉から衣を作った。彼らを憐れんだ神は、二人のために皮の衣を作った。いちじくの葉は人間の行い、皮の衣はキリストによる義を象徴していた。私達の神は恵みに富んだ方である。私達は彼の愛の内に歩もう。
