Paul prayed for the Christians in Ephesus that their spiritual eyes would be opened. As we learned last week, we have been given wonderful spiritual blessings. However, if we do not see them, we cannot live in the reality. The work of the Spirit of wisdom and revelation is essential for our spiritual eyes to be opened. If our spiritual eyes could see clearly, we would understand the following. 1: We have true hope. We who have been saved have received a calling along with our salvation. When we live in God’s calling, we will have true hope, the meaning of life. 2: We know the riches of God’s inheritances in saints. Paul’s life had so many tribulations. Nevertheless, he said “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18) This was because, Paul experienced being caught up to the third heaven and saw its glory. ForPaul, earthly tribulations were insignificant compared to the splendor of his inheritance in heaven. When we know the greatness of our heavenly inheritance, we can gain strength to face the difficulties of this world. 3: We knowGod’s mighty power. God raised Jesus from the dead and His great power is at work on us. God’s power works on those who believe in Him. In other words, what is requiredof us to experience His power is our faith. God, who raised Jesus from the dead, strengthens our weak bodies, heal sour illness, and gives us the strength to serve Him. Let us pray for our spiritual eyes to be opened!
パウロはエペソのクリスチャン達の霊の目が開かれるよう祈った。先週学んだように、私達には素晴らしい霊的祝福が与えられている。しかしながら、もし霊的祝福が見えなければ、私達はその現実に生きる事が出来ない。私達の霊的開眼のためには、知恵と啓示の御霊の働きが不可欠なのだ。もしも御霊によって、私達の霊の目がハッキリと見えるようになると、私達は次の事柄を悟る。1:希望が見えるようになる。救われた私達は、救いと同時に召しを受けた。私達が神の召しに生きる時、私達は真の希望を持つようになる。それは生きる意義とも呼べるものである。2:聖徒の受け継ぐ遺産の素晴らしさを知る。パウロの人生には困難が多かった。しかしながら、パウロは「この世で経験する患難は軽い」と言った。何故ならは、彼は第三の天に引き上げられる経験をし、天の栄光を見たからだ。天で私達が受け取る遺産の素晴らしさを知る時、私達はこの世の困難に立ち向かう力を得る。3: 聖徒に働く神の力の偉大さを知る。神はイエスを死者の中から蘇らせた。それほどに偉大な力が私達には働きかけているのだ。神の力は「信じる者」に働く。つまり、私達が神の地からの偉大さを経験するために必要な事は、私達が神を信じる事である。イエスを蘇らせた神は、私達の弱い肉体をも強くし、病を癒やし、神に使えるための力を与えて下さる。パウロが祈ったように、私達も御霊によって私達の霊の目が開かれるよう祈ろう。
